About Ultra Compact

Back in September 2012 trading as Specific Oil Solutions we started out by producing our first product, the Universal Filter Pack. To date, this product has sold some 100,000+ pieces in its various forms.

In 2015 our founder Stuart Bratt designed a unique fuel tank isolation valve. Following Copyright approval, the ULTRA Compact fuel tank isolation valve was successfully launched in April 2016 at FPS EXPO in Liverpool. Since launch, demand for the product has been strong, with fuel tank manufacturers such as Tuffa U.K. and Atlantis Tanks Group providing the valve with every bottom outlet fuel tank supplied.

Back in 2015, recognising the manner in which fuel-oils had already changed over the past twenty or so years. Plus the understanding that things would eventually go down the biofuel route, everything we have manufactured from 2015 has been designed suitable not only current fossil fuels, but also evolving biofuel blends and 100% biofuels including HVO (hydro-treated vegetable oil) - i.e. future-proof!

2020 saw us take on a new business name, that of ULTRA Compact Limited.

The ethos of our business remains one of constantly striving for perfection in respect of everything we manufacture.

Testing of our fuel tank valve and filter products, plus our in-line fuel filter range is carried out in real conditions, possibly the harshest conditions within the U.K., that of mainland Shetland.

Quality is key with everything we manufacture. Raw materials, components, and consumables are sourced from local suppliers wherever possible. To this end, the vast majority of our goods are sourced from within the U.K.

Our small rural business continues to grow and thrive, offering the oil-fired heating, cooking and fuel-oil storage industries an increasing number of completely new products. The broadening product range has clearly assisted sales growth over the past three years to the tune of a 92% increase in sales based upon 2019 volumes.
