1/4” BSPP female swivel x 3/8” BSPP male elbow fitting.

SOS manufacture a comprehensive range of plated mild steel fuel hose adaptors, for a wide variety of applications. All of the male threads are long, thus can be used in conjunction with stainless steel braided, long-life rubber and thermoplastic plus dual containment hoses, i.e. everything fits! All are also fitted with a green Viton rubber O ring on the inner shank of the female swivel nut end. Therefore can be easily and reliably connected to other fittings without any requirement for additional jointing compound of PTFE tape etc. Due to the materials used, these fittings are all compatible with fossil, biofuel blends, and 100% biofuels including HVO.

Whilst we generally supply these fittings to help service technicians with effectively a “get out of jail free” card for that problem job at 3 pm on a Friday afternoon. In other words, they can be extremely helpful/valuable van stock items. Some technicians fit them as standard to all appliances where annual routine servicing is carried out by them year upon year. Meaning they only need to fit the adaptor once, then buy and stock only one fuel hose on the van. As all hoses are now date stamped, this obviously helps with controlling stock rotation and helps avoid any out-of-date van stock.

1/4” BSPP female swivel x 1/4” BSPP male elbow fitting. This unit can be used on any fuel hose terminating with a 1/4” BSP loose female swivel nut (or loose male nut with solid inner shank, if used in conjunction with our 1/4” BSPP nickel plated brass socket.) However, where this fitting really comes into its own is when fitted to any pre-condensing Worcester Bosch floor standing boiler, where the fuel service valve with red plastic handle passes through the burner box (room-sealed balanced flue models.) Here it provides the service technician the ability to turn the flexible fuel hose through ninety degrees, thus avoiding the top of the burner, which for any hose except the original simple braided variant is very difficult to achieve with both the longer termination/nut, longer crimped area and often generally stiffer hose construction.

1/4” BSPP female swivel x 3/8” BSPP male elbow fitting. Particularly helpful when you ideally require a 1/4” female hose termination but find you only have a 3/8” BSP hose available from van stock. In much the same way as the 1/4 x 1/4 elbow, this also can be very useful with any pre-condensing Worcester Bosch floor standing boiler, where the fuel service valve with red plastic handle passes through the burner box (room-sealed balanced flue models.) Here this unit also provides the service technician the ability to turn the, now 3/8” BSP female terminated hose through ninety degrees, thus avoiding the top of the burner, which for any hose except the original simple braided variant is very difficult to achieve with both the longer termination/nut, longer crimped area and often generally stiffer hose construction.

3/8” BSPP female swivel x 1/4” BSPP male elbow fitting. As above, but when the sizes are reversed, thus when you ideally require a 3/8” BSP female hose termination but find you only have a 1/4” BSP hose available from van stock.

3/8” BSPP female swivel x 3/8” BSPP male elbow fitting. This product we would strongly recommend be obtained/kept in “pairs”. The reason for pairs being this, certain wall-mounted boilers can benefit from the addition of these fittings between the fuel hose and the bulkhead fitting, simplifying the ability to swap hoses during routine servicing. This observation relates to Boulter units in particular, we believe. However as the majority of wall-mounted boilers operate a two-pipe fuel system, two elbow fittings would obviously be required per appliance.

3/8” BSPP female swivel x 1/4” BSPP male coupling. As above, but when the sizes are reversed, thus when you ideally require a 3/8” BSP female hose termination but find you only have a 1/4” BSP hose available from van stock.

1/4” BSPP x 1/4” BSPP female equal socket. This nickel-plated brass unit complete with centre hexagon for holding/retaining/tightening/releasing can be used safely and reliably to connect any fuel hose terminating with a 1/4” BSP loose male nut c/w with inner shank. For example, any pre-condensing Worcester Bosch floor standing boiler, where the fuel service valve with red plastic handle passes through the burner box (room-sealed balanced flue models.) Fitted here it provides the service technician the ability to fit a standard Riello style 1/4” BSPP male elbow hose in order to turn the hose through ninety degrees, thus avoiding the top of the burner, which for any hose except the original simple braided variant is very difficult to achieve with both the longer termination/nut, longer crimped area and often generally stiffer hose construction.

Simply connect the elbow hose fitting to the 1/4” BSPP male thread of the bulkhead service valve using the socket as the means of connection. Using the hexagon on the socket for holding, tightening, and/or removing the hose couldn’t be easier. Plus as it’s only a means of connecting the hose tip to the inner chamfer of the bulkhead valve there’s no requirement for any jointing compound on the socket fitting whatsoever.
