Delivering Hope to Ukraine - Start of day five

Delivering Hope to Ukraine 🇺🇦🇬🇧🇺🇦

Start of day five

The sun is up and I’m itching to get on the road, but first I must visit an outdoor clothing shop in this town to obtain some warmer under garments. Waitress in pizzeria last night said to go to AWG Mode Center, which is just a short walk from me (I’m the blue dot.) As of right now I’m wearing three tee shirts in an attempt to layer-up, then my Dainese bike jacket, then the Portwest high vis jacket, but it’s still not enough for this biting wind. I’m confident they will sort me, just give me what the locals buy? Is all all say.

Google Map says Leknica, the Polish border is two-hours away by car, therefore I’m hopeful of making it by 1pm on the “chicken chaser” affectionately named Hope @ circa 35mph. She’s taking it all in her stride and coping well, a little better than I am at times.

Update -

Hope and I made the front cover of our local newspaper, attached.

Plus the JustGiving pot is now over £1,200, sincere thanks to everyone who has helped lift the total. I appreciate times are hard for many too in the U.K.

Note: I turned on Strava and Polar Steps before breakfast, as I’d possibly forget as I set off. The results being, I’ve currently not travelled very far!

Will post again immediately we reach Poland! 🇵🇱

Thank-you for your kindness and support 🙂
